Texting streak
Consecutive calendar days with at least one message from either person — one text is enough to keep it alive.
A texting streak counts days, not effort — a single "morning" at 7am counts exactly the same as a hundred-message conversation. That’s deliberate: the streak is a measure of consistency over time, not intensity on any given day, and the two are genuinely different things worth tracking separately. A streak is broken by a full calendar day with nothing from either person, and starting a new one after a break is worth noting as its own small event.

A 106-day streak means 106 consecutive calendar days with at least one message — it says nothing about whether those days were one text each or a thousand.
Frequently asked questions
Does the streak reset to zero at midnight or does it need a message before a deadline?+
It follows calendar days in whatever timezone the export was written in — a message needs to land sometime between one midnight and the next to keep that day, and thereby the streak, alive.
Is a long streak automatically a sign of a close relationship?+
Not on its own — a work chat with a daily standup message can have a long streak too. It’s more informative alongside message volume and word count than by itself.
